Training and Advice

Training overview

Bionema practical biopesticides training – founded on research:
focused on nature.

Bionema training programmes are developed by biological experts with years of practical experience in maximising the benefits of biological controls

We focus on the needs of your business to help you achieve immediate beneficial results. A ‘hands on’ approach provides practical knowledge and advice in the use of biological pesticides to maximise their effectiveness – not theoretical, academic lectures.

We offer both on and offsite classroom training for individuals or groups of up to 20 people as well as online training which can save time and money by addressing your team’s specific needs.  We help your organisation to find solutions to real problems within your growing and IPM programmes.

Anyone in the agriculture, horticulture, sports turf/amenity and forestry  sectors would benefit from these courses – whether they are already using biopesticides, or preparing to switch from chemicals and want to learn more the latest best practice solutions to ensure maximum efficiency of natural control systems.

About your lead trainer

Dr Minshad Ansari heads up all our training courses, supported by other members of the Bionema team.

With more than 15 years of work in biopesticide development and delivery of Integrated Pest Management strategy in agricultural, horticultural, sport turf and forestry sectors, Minshad is one of the most experienced specialists in this sector. Minshad’s work brought him to Swansea University after successfully running research and development projects at the Institute for Agricultural and Fisheries Research, Merelbeke, Belgium and the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT), India.

With many new biopesticide product registrations to his credit, and close co-operation with businesses across all the growing sectors, Minshad established Bionema as a spin-out company from Swansea University in 2012, determined to make it a leading independent biocontrol product testing and development company.

He has published over 70 scientific journal articles and given more than 50 presentations (and keynotes) at scientific meetings, growers associations and tradeshows.
