VINE WEEVIL CONTROL DEMONSTRATION AND TRIAL FOR SOIL GROWN STRAWBERRIES

REMINDER – INVITATION

Vine Weevil control demonstration and trial for soil grown strawberries

Bionema would like to remind you about this important event which will reveal in real time the results of our soil based large scale field grown strawberry trial assessing the efficacy of different commercially available products such as nematopTM, nemasys L, Met52G bioinsecticide and their combinations.

Exciting new technologies for the control of black vine weevil are also being trialled, including a wetting agent, new Met52 oil dilution formulation and encapsulated nematode formulation.

Soft fruit growers will get the first-hand experience of this efficacy trial, conditions and setup as well as seeing results unfold – in real time – in front of them on commercial products they may already be using.

New, as yet not on the market, technologies will also be compared.

More than 16 different treatments are being assessed; including entomopathogenic nematodes, bioinsecticides and wetting agents at Pennoxstone Court, Kings Caple, Hereford, by kind permission of Mr Neil Cockburn, a soft fruit grower.

A trial walk will demonstrate all the treatments, with more details available in a handout on the day. The benefit of each treatment for soil and substrate fruit growing, and how they can be part of your farm IPM, will be discussed.

We would like to welcome you to a fully participative event that invites discussion of on-farm techniques.
