The installation of effective traps provides an effective alert to the presence of unwanted pests at an early stage, detecting insects before they become a major problem and enabling timely and effective intervention.
Bionema’s moth traps have been developed to be highly effective for trapping a range of moth pests. All of our traps are durable and hardwearing, they are simple to install and maintain, and can be used over several growing seasons. Used with species-specific pheromone attractants, which lure flying insects into the traps, they have a minimal effect on beneficial insects, and they are non-toxic to humans or the environment.
Moth AttraTM is conventional ‘bucket trap’, while Moth TentTM houses a sticky liner that is easily removable for convenient inspection and replacement.
Our large Moth Attra™ model is a reliable population monitoring tool for damaging pest species of moth and flying insects, such as fall armyworm (Spodoptera frugiperda), codling moth (Cydia pomonella) and Mediterranean fruit fly (Ceratitis capitata), in the commercial field setting.
Our small Moth Attra™ model, which measures 19.5cm x 15cm, targets micro-Lepidoptera such as Tuta absoluta, Cydalima perspectalis (the box tree moth) and other moths present in gardens and allotments. Its small size ensures versatile placement, and the green colour reduces attraction to non-target insects.
An ideal trapping device for the monitoring of Lepidoptera pests in indoor and outdoor areas. The trap is quick and easy to assemble, and simply requires the addition of a pheromone lure which, when placed in the centre of the trap, will attract and trap the pests on a removable sticky liner.
