BIONEMA SELECTED FOR EXCLUSIVE PARTNERSHIP PROGRAMME
Bionema Ltd is one of only three companies hand-picked to join a cohort that will take part in the exclusive Johnson Matthey AgriTech Partnership Programme (JMAPP). The announcement follows a five-week global search for companies and individuals who want to develop their innovative AgriTech solutions.
Bionema will be given the opportunity to develop their microencapsulation technology within an intense programme of collaboration and scientific and management support from Cranfield University and Johnson Matthey.
As part of this cohort, Bionema will have the opportunity to use the world-class research facilities located at Cranfield, including those of the UK Government’s AgriTech Centres, Agri-EPI and CHAP. The AgriTech Centres’ facilities at Cranfield have recently received £10 million of investment.
“We are very proud to have been selected for this prestigious partnership programme,” said Dr Minshad Ali Ansari, MD of Bionema, “Our focus within the programme is to develop non-toxic bio-based microencapsulation technology for control of Western Flower Thrips which cause an estimated £50 million of damage a year in UK alone and more than £5 billion worldwide.”
Over 35 businesses entered the competitive pitch process to receive a package of advice, support and funding within the Johnson Matthey Agritech Partnership Programme (JMAPP); Bionema Ltd will be among the first cohort of companies to join the new three-month programme.
